Arrival: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) – Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon landing and clearing customs, your Brown Parrot Safaris guide will be waiting to whisk you away to Arusha. The 50-minute drive offers a beautiful introduction to the region, featuring vibrant coffee and banana groves and a glimpse of the Global Orphanage. Spend the afternoon unwinding at the Masai Land Safari Lodge, soaking in the atmosphere before heading into the wild. Overnight: Masai Land Safari Lodge.
Day 1: Arusha – Community Visit – Tarangire National Park
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading into the vibrant landscapes of Maasailand. Your morning is dedicated to meaningful community engagement with visits to the Noosuyan and Lesimingori school centers, where you can see the positive impact of our local partnerships. From there, venture into Tarangire National Park, a breathtaking “Baobab Capital” characterized by majestic trees and the winding Tarangire River—a magnet for spectacular wildlife. Overnight: Tarangire River Camp.
Day 2: Full Day Safari in Tarangire National Park
Step into the “Home of the Giants.” Tarangire boasts the largest elephant population in Tanzania and a landscape dotted with iconic, towering baobabs. After an exciting morning of wildlife spotting, enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic site inside the park. Your adventure continues with a late-afternoon game drive as the animals gather at the river to drink. Overnight: Tarangire River Camp.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
Nestled at the base of the rusty-gold Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem. Drive through a lush groundwater forest alive with troops of baboons and blue monkeys before the landscape opens up to the alkaline lake, shimmering with thousands of pink flamingos. Keep a sharp eye on the acacia trees for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Overnight: Kilimamoja Lodge.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
After an early breakfast, descend into the heart of the Ngorongoro Crater. This high concentration of predators—including lions, leopards, and hyenas—makes for thrilling sightings. You will visit Lake Magadi to see flamingos and stop at the Hippo Pool for a scenic picnic lunch. This is one of the best places in Africa to spot the endangered Black Rhino in its natural habitat. Overnight: Kilimamoja Lodge.
Day 5: Arusha Culture & Departure
After a final safari breakfast, drive back to Arusha to explore the vibrant Maasai Market or the Cultural Heritage Center for last-minute souvenirs and Tanzanite. Enjoy a farewell lunch at a local garden café before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your evening flight home.
