4 Days Tanzania Safari Itinerary: Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart from Arusha and head straight to the beautiful Tarangire National Park. Known for its ancient baobab trees, vast savannahs, and rich acacia woodland, the park is home to large elephant herds and a variety of wildlife. Enjoy a scenic game drive along the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts countless animals. Lunch will be served at a designated picnic site inside the park. In the late afternoon, continue your game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and drive toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Your journey takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a chance to glimpse breathtaking highland views along the way. Enjoy a packed lunch en route before entering Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate. Begin your first wildlife sightings as you drive through the vast plains toward central Serengeti. Arrive in time for sunset, followed by dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.
Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the endless plains of Serengeti National Park. Start with an optional early morning game drive to catch predators in action. Today you may spot lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, and depending on the season the awe-inspiring wildebeest migration. After a hot lunch back at the lodge or packed picnic lunch, continue your afternoon game drive. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Leave Serengeti early with a packed breakfast or lunch, and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive in one of Africa’s most stunning and wildlife-rich locations. Known as Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to nearly every species found in East Africa, including black rhinos, hippos, flamingos, lions, and elephants. Enjoy lunch near a scenic crater-side lake before continuing your exploration. Later in the evening, ascend the crater and drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Departure: Transfer to Airport from Ngorongoro/Arusha
After breakfast, depart for Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha for your onward travel. Your unforgettable safari adventure ends here.
